Forest fires have been active on the Southern coast of Turkey since 28 July 2021. The death toll from the fires is officially reported as eight people killed in a total of 156 wildfires that have erupted in the last week.
- Most of these fires have been contained, as reported by the Turkish authorities although fires are still blazing in Manavgat of Antalya as well as in Marmaris and Milas of Muğla.
- Thousands of people in many villages, residential areas, and hotels have been evacuated. Many fields and animals in the mountain villages have been affected.
February 24, 2022, Binomo organized the Binomo Forest Cup – a thematic (basketball) charity match, where each basket number was donated as 10 saplings by Binomo.
It took place with the participation of big influencers and their followers.
As a result of the match, in which every basket thrown turns into 10 saplings on behalf of the OGEM-VAK – one of the biggest non-governmental organizations for reforestation and the protection of natural habitats in Turkey. A total of 1400 saplings will meet with nature under the sponsorship of Binomo.
